The Story

Having purchased a beautiful custom home with a view, this couple with two young children wanted to transform the home to be an true reflection of their personal styles. More than anything, the home needed to have an updated traditional feel (traditional but with contemporary touches), feel fresh and respect the home's architectural details. Jason was brought in to do the transformation - remodel the kitchen and three bathrooms, as well as provide a complete decorative scheme throughout most of the home with new furniture, accessories and window treatments.

The kitchen and family room areas set the tone for the entire home. Taking special care to not take away from the spectacular view of the nearby mountains, we designed the kitchen to be a place for entertaining large groups. With marble counters and elegant white cabinetry, the kitchen feels traditional yet fresh. The soft gray backsplash is highlighted with a stunning glass and marble inset over the range. The nearby family room is filled with color and pattern, providing a comfortable room for hanging out with family and friends. Gatework and  geometric patterns in contemporary colors bring in the needed balance to the traditional feel.

This idea of mixing traditional with contemporary can be seen in most other rooms. A custom gatework-patterned area rug in the game room brings in a fresh orange tone. The living room, master bedroom and dining room all have the perfect balance between the contemporary and traditional. In the kids' bathroom, we worked in vibrant colors, unique mirrors and thoughtful lighting to really set the tone for these spaces.
